Letter of Commitment
Dear Readers,
This week, instead of the money diary we’d originally scheduled to release, we are writing to affirm our commitment to you in our future trajectory as a support resource.
We are building Working Artist because we believe that artistic endeavors provide both a great solace and glimmers of joy in the United States’ capitalistic landscape.
We understand, first-hand, how daunting it can be to navigate as a person with an urge to create in a place that isn’t conducive to our success or our survival.
Though in our early stages, we are committed to addressing difficulties in economic infrastructure, healthcare systems, housing, and more by sharing individual stories and building comprehensive guides. We are committed to exploring radical, inclusive alternatives beyond the solutions offered by those in power. These resources will be there for you to access at any time free of charge.
First and foremost, we promise to listen. We want to hear your stories, and we will give you a platform to share your challenges, your successes, and your work as a working artist.
We pledge our support to all those who bravely continue to follow their creative journeys. Today we especially stand for immigrant working artists, for women working artists, for working class and blue collar artists, for working artists in poverty. We hear you, now and for always.
Sincerely,
Working Artist Mag
